Hanging in Measham

The Measham Community Wallhanging is unveiled

There was a real 'buzz' in Saint Laurence's on Saturday, 27th April as members of both the church and representatives of many of the organisations and some businesses in Measham gathered for the unveilng of the completed Measham Comunity Wallhanging.

Back in September 2012, as part of the church's 'Jesus 2012' week of events, squares were brought in by local groups to be put together as a Wallhanging to show the variety and richness of life in our village. Under the supervision of local resident, Margaret Broadhurst, the squares have now been ordered into a product which can only be described as a wonderful tribute to Measham and those who have contributed. Each square revealed a talent, but the whole is certainly much more than just the sum of each individual piece.

The Wallhanging was unveiled by Vivien Elphick, vicar of the church and team rector of the Woodfield Team, and will be on permanent display in the church, enabling visitors and locals to view this fine work at their leisure.
