Christmas@Measham: December 7th. How did it go?

The evening begins at St Laurence's

Christmas@Measham: Thursday 7th  December

A large crowd turned out for this year's Christmas@Measham. The tail end of hurricane Caroline meant things didn't quite go to plan. The evening started dry and cold - we were treated to singing by the children of both St Charles RC school and Measham CE school. We all had a go at singing carols helped along by the Donisthorpe Scout Band. Then there was the amazing talent on display of the winners of the Measham's got Christmas Talent competition.

But by this time, the wind blew and the rain came and it all got a bit tricky - the sound system was in danger and the speakers were blowing over. Neverthless the lights came on and the High Street looks great. The Tower of Light is now visible from all around and we prayed for all those remembered by the lights on the Tower.

Santa came and had a good queue for those who wanted to meet him. The hall did well with stalls, tombola, Treasure Hunt and teas and coffees and mince pies

Thanks to all the businesses who were open and warmed us up after what had become a very cold and wet event. And to all those who on the organizing committee.

HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

ENJOY THE LIGHTS
