It's harvest festival time: October 18th

      Harvest Festival takes place on October 18th at 10am

      We haven’t worked out yet how we will celebrate harvest this year with no singing and all in facemasks. However, celebrate we will and give thanks for all the good things God gives us. Come along and join in!

     Importantly we will be collecting for the Marlene Reid Centre in Coalville. If you're not famliar with the work of the Marlene Reid Centre, then go to their website at They will distribute our gifts to families in need across North West Leicestershire. Come armed with tins and packet food.

   At church, there will be a box in the porch to receive your gifts. We can leave them untouched for at least 72 hours until the Marlene Reid come to collect them. You can leave gifts when church is open Tuesdays-Thursdays or bring to the harvest festival service itself.

Sadly no eats this year – not allowed. No harvest lunch or harvest supper which is such a shame but we can do our bit in helping others

A prayer of general thanksgiving:

Accept, O Lord, our thanks and praise for all that you have done for us. We thank you for the splendour of the whole creation, for the beauty of this world, for the wonder of life, and for the mystery of love.

We thank you for the blessing of family and friends, and for the loving care which surrounds us on every side.

We thank you for setting us at tasks which demand our best efforts, and for leading us to accomplishments which satisfy and delight us.

We thank you also for those disappointments and failures that lead us to acknowledge our dependence on you alone.

Above all, we thank you for your Son Jesus Christ; for the truth of his Word and the example of his life; for his steadfast obedience, by which he overcame temptation; for his dying, through which he overcame death;

and for his rising to life again, in which we are raised to the life of your kingdom.

Grant us the gift of your Spirit, that we may know him and make him known; and through him, at all times and in all places, may give thanks to you in all things. Amen.
